(b) The sections of the ship which are enclosed by fire resisting Bulkheads

(c) Particulars of fire detection and fire alarms system

(d) The sprinkler installation (fixed fire fighting system)

(e) Fire Extinguishing appliance

(f) Fireman's out fit

(g) EEBD

(h) Ventilations closing arrangement

(i) Ventilation fan / oil fuel Pumps /  fire Pumps controls (outside E/R)

(j) QCV remote operation position

(k) Primary and secondary Escape routes from E/R and Accommodation

(l) Location of International shore connections

(m) Fire Hydrants / Hoses location

(n) Ships particulars

(o) Fire pumps locations 

(p) Spaces protected by fixed fire fighting system Co2 / Dry powder / Foam/ water

(q) Location of fixed Co2 / Foam / Dry powder installation

(r) Any other fire fighting equipment with specific application.

MASTER'S REVIEW ON SMS The ISM Code requires the Company to define and document the Master's responsibility with regard to 'reviewing the Safety Management System and reporting its deficiencies to the shore based management'.  The opportunity provided by the Master's formal review should not be underestimated, allowing the Master and those on board ship to increase their sense of ownership of the SMS. Suggestions from the Master about potential improvements to the SMS should be taken seriously by the Company. In some Companies it is common practice to schedule a Master's review of the SMS on each ship once every 12 months, (Like in Anglo the review to be completed by every December and if master is due for sign off in Nov / Dec then the same has to complete by October end) and the interval should not be greater than this.  However, in Companies where the full potential of the Master's review has been recognised, this exercise is carried out

Guide Notes for Boiler Survey Boiler Surveys (Including Thermal Oil Heaters) General A complete boiler survey allows us to check out if any build-up of deposits has taken place, and deformations or wastage of plate work, piping or any of the various parts, which may compromise the sale working order of the unit. The survey should include research as to cause of any anomalies found and also their correction. Any repair will have to ensure the sale working order of the boiler until the next survey. A complete survey means a lull internal and external examination of all parts of the boiler and accessories such as super heater, economizer, air-heater internal organs and all mountings.
